After earning her Bachelor of Arts degree from Purdue University, Amy attended Michigan State University College of Law where she focused on constitutional law, trial practice, and statutory drafting and interpretation. Following a semester of fierce competition, she won a slot on the Law College’s Moot Court Board and was selected to mentor the Board’s youngest trial teams. A staunch believer in the importance of transparent policymaking to the evolution of the law, Amy moved to Texas after law school and accepted a position as a General Counsel in the Texas House of Representatives. In 2015 Amy moved to Washington D.C. to advise lawmakers, lobbyists, and advocates on issues ranging from regulatory reform to ethical campaigning to the preservation of our civil rights. In 2017 she consulted with the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative on criminal justice reform and built multistate policy coalitions focusing on prosecutorial overreach, overcriminalization, and juvenile justice. A gifted storyteller, in 2019 Amy accepted a role in the United States Senate as Senator Marsha Blackburn’s (R-Tenn.) Speechwriter and Counsel. During her time on Capitol Hill Amy advised the Senator on her full portfolio of policy issues, consulted on Senate rules and procedure, and drafted speeches for delivery on the national stage.
Amy returned to Texas and joined Guest and Gray, P.C.’s complex civil litigation practice in 2024. When she’s not busy at work, she enjoys writing songs, cooking, marksmanship, and adding to her vintage vinyl collection. Amy is a sister of Sigma Kappa and a long-time member of the Federalist Society, the Republican National Lawyers Association, and the National Federation of Republican Women.
