This past weekend, White Coat Waste Project and some of its top supporters from around the country had the honor of hosting Congressman Ted Lieu (D-CA), one of Congress’s most outstanding leaders fighting wasteful taxpayer-funded animal experiments.

At the private standing-room-only “Winning in Washington” event emceed by animal advocate and journalist Jane Velez-Mitchell, Rep. Lieu–a 2017 WCW Waste Warrior awardee–discussed some of the historic bipartisan victories he’s worked with WCW to secure.
Rep. Lieu has been instrumental in some of WCW’s biggest wins, including:
- Shutting down methamphetamine experiments on dogs at the Los Angeles VA
- Introducing the PUPPERS Act to end all painful VA dog testing
- Defunding the VA’s dog testing
- Pushing for the adoption of animals at the completion of government experiments
- Co-sponsoring the KITTEN Act to shut down the USDA’s kitten slaughterhouse
