Ever since White Coat Waste first exposed Dr. Anthony Fauci’s reckless funding for the Wuhan animal lab six years ago—and later revealed that he bankrolled beagle torture and repeatedly lied about both—we’ve fought to hold him accountable.
This week, in advance of Fauci’s first time testifying before Congress since he was pardoned by President Joe Biden, Senator Rand Paul released more than 1,100 pages from Fauci’s private diary. The entries revealed that Fauci was well aware in early 2020 that his agency funded the Wuhan lab’s dangerous coronavirus experiments on animals and that many in his inner circle were concerned a lab leak there could have caused COVID.
The diary also exposes new details about the extent of Fauci’s behind-the-scenes efforts to crush White Coat Waste and our criticism of his funding for Beaglegate.
Stunningly, Fauci writes about a “great” call with President Barack Obama, who offered to mobilize Biden administration officials to defend him. Within days, Obama connected Fauci with his former aide and political fixer Eric Schultz, who discussed using sympathetic media figures to “debunk” the scandal.
Fauci wrote in his diary: “Once you expose the people instigating this, they are often reluctant to continue.”
In his diary, Fauci also celebrated the publication of a now-infamous Washington Post hit piece as a “fantastic article…[debunking] in an incredibly efficient manner the false claims against me by the right wing motivated White Coat Waste project regarding the beagle experiments.”
Years ago, we uncovered receipts proving that Fauci and his agency coordinated with the Post on the story to spread disinformation defending Fauci and discredit WCW. We even obtained internal NIH emails exposing how Fauci told the reporter, “I will send you an email via my Gmail account, ” which would violate federal records law. He also later denied under oath ever using his personal email for official business—but we have receipts.
In light of all this, Wednesday’s Senate hearing may have been Congress’s last chance to make Fauci finally come clean.
Instead, Fauci took the Fifth and gave taxpayers the finger.
He refused to answer a single question during this week’s Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee hearing, invoking the Fifth Amendment over 100 times despite receiving a sweeping pardon from President Biden.
Questions about Fauci’s funding for dangerous and gruesome animal experiments were center stage.
Senator Paul detailed how Fauci-funded experimenters manipulated coronaviruses and infected “humanized” mice to determine whether the newly created viruses could infect people. Asked whether these dangerous animal experiments could create viruses capable of causing a pandemic, Fauci took the Fifth.
Sen. Joni Ernst (R-IA) also confronted Fauci about taxpayer-funded coronavirus experiments using “humanized” mice implanted with tissue and organs from aborted babies—including scalps, fingers and lungs. Again, Fauci refused to answer.
As we previously exposed, Dr. Fauci was the government’s single largest funder of nightmarish animal experiments using human fetal tissue, as well as of unaccountable foreign animal labs.
This isn’t the end for Dr. Fauci, though.
Senator Paul announced that the committee will vote on holding Fauci in contempt of Congress for refusing to answer their questions. A conviction can carry up to one year in jail and a fine of up to $100,000.
Fauci showed contempt for Congress, contempt for taxpayers and contempt for the truth. Congress should make it official and hold him in contempt.
