Karen Lapizco is the Communications Director at White Coat Waste (WCW), where she assists in media strategy, messaging, and press engagement to highlight WCW’s work to find, expose, and defund $20 billion in taxpayer-funded animal testing.
Before joining the WCW team, Karen served as the Advocacy Director for World Animal News and Campaign Manager for Peace 4 Animals, where she helped grow WAN’s social media following by more than 350,000 and produced high-impact content that drove petitions, donations, and major advocacy campaigns. Her work translated investigations into clear, compelling messaging that elevated global conversations around animal protection and government accountability.
Outside of her professional work, Karen is a dedicated wildlife transporter who has helped rescue countless injured and orphaned animals, many of whom were rehabilitated and released back into the wild. When she’s not volunteering to transport animals, you’ll find her camping under the stars, canyoneering, and unwinding at home with her partner, dog, and cat.
