Philanthropist Louise Linton joins WCW campaign to free lab animals

Animals abused in government labs are lucky to have friends in high places fighting for their freedom.  White Coat Waste Project is proud to count Louise Linton–a consummate filmmaker, actor, philanthropist and humanitarian–among them.  Louise is a tireless advocate for the welfare of animals and humans, and recently founded the Louise Linton Charitable Fund to support organizations working on these issues.

Yesterday, Louise joined the WCW team for a meeting with Senator Susan Collins (R-ME) to thank her for her leadership on the bipartisan AFTER Act (aka Violet’s Law) to retire lab animals and discuss other ways to curb wasteful taxpayer-funded animal testing that’s opposed by most Americans. Since the 1990s, Sen. Collins has championed efforts to end government animal testing. Just last week, she co-hosted a Capitol Hill briefing with WCW to rally support for the AFTER Act, at which her dog Pepper joined as a special guest.

Kia and I are proud to work with our friends at @whitecoatwaste to end cruel and unnecessary government animal testing. Yesterday, we had the honor of meeting with animal champion @sensusancollins to thank her for incredible leadership on the AFTER Act, a bipartisan bill to allow dogs, cats, monkeys & other animals to be retired from federal labs. Collins has been working to end animal testing for over 20 years, and we discussed how we can work together to further reduce needless government animal tests and retire as many as animals as possible.
